Founded in 2007, From Age To Age quickly made a name for itself across the upper Midwest. The ensemble performed as an auditioned professional ensemble at the 2010 MN ACDA convention, and shortly after was invited to perform as a premier professional ensemble at the 2011 ICDA Summer Symposium. From Age to Age has been featured as a Regional Spotlight group on Minnesota Public Radio, and has been included on the Classical Minnesota Public Radio Holiday CD "A Taste of the Holidays." Cutting edge interpretations and superb ensemble singing continue to be trademarks of From Age to Age.
Artistic Director Brennan Michaels: From Age to Age’s Artistic Director brings fresh leadership and vision as a Choral Conductor and Music Educator. Michaels received his Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Music Education from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, where he studied with Rene Clausen, Paul Hindemith, and Michael Smith. He went on to pursue his passion for choral music as a Bass with From Age to Age. In addition to directing From Age to Age, Michaels is a choral music teacher at Sartell High School.
Prior to his appointment as From Age to Age's Artistic Director and directing at Sartell High School, Michaels was head of music at Community of Peace Academy, where he taught K-8 general music, 9-12 choir, and music appreciation courses. He attended the National Conductor’s Symposium in Vancouver, British Columbia, studying under Jon Washburn. At the Symposium, Michaels conducted the Vancouver Chamber Choir in concert, titled Poetry in Music.
Michaels was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona, where he began his musical career in the Phoenix Symphony Guild. Michaels is an active church musician, directing youth and children’s choirs. When not making music, Michaels enjoys outdoor activities such as river rafting and traveling.
